Performed a diagnostic service call for a 2013 gas furnace. Customer complaint was that new ecobee thermostat installed by solar company was a only able to run the cooling and fan but no heat. I checked the wiring on the thermostat and at the furnace. The wiring was done incorrectly as the “Y” terminals were only setup to run Y1 and not Y2 as well so that the single stage AC that is attached would have the proper airflow. The previous thermostat that was taken off of the wall was communicating and controlled that all on its own.

Performed a diagnostic service call for a heat pump. All testing was found that system is properly charged and with the outdoor temperatures it is doesn’t have capacity to maintain temperatures when it gets down to the 20s. The homeowner swears the last couple years it has been just fine and this year has just been an issue.
